Experience

I have lived in the Upper Valley for over 30 years and currently live in Taftsville with my husband Dick and our certified therapy dog Taffy. Taffy and I volunteer at the VA twice each week as a pet therapy team.

I am a retired data manager from Dartmouth Medical School with training as a research librarian. I know how to research issues and present data in a clear and accessible format. As someone who has examined the Town budgets and audit reports extensively, I know firsthand that it can take countless hours to understand what is presented in those documents. I believe that it should not require an MBA to know how our tax dollars are being spent! That's one big reason why I am running for Selectboard.

Together, we can make a difference

My research often leads to more questions. When reviewing the town's annual reports (line item by line item), I discovered that the 2024 and 2025 annual reports contained errors - some serious. I brought those errors to the attention of town management and insisted that they be acknowledged and corrected publicly. Due to my persistence, there is now an Errata page on the Finance Reports web page.

This is an example all parties working together to resolve a problem without rancor. We achieved transparency and retained respect.

I believe that my relationship with the Town Manager and Finance Director is one of good rapport. They have been generous with their time, answering my questions and providing explanations, including the few instances when we haven’t so far seen eye to eye.

My interest in serving on the Selectboard is not limited to the budget. I am very committed to the community as a whole. I have worked in Woodstock (my last name was then Greene) and my son attended Woodstock elementary, middle and high schools.
